ALPINE SKIING
In Livigno you ski better and more: from the end of November to the beginning of May with 115 kilometres of slopes of various levels (black, red and blue) from 1800 to 2900 metres in altitude, served by cutting-edge ski lift systems set on two mountain sides:
– Mottolino, with the first ski slopes “Seggiovia Trepalle”, is located at 800 meters from our hotel and can be reached with the free shuttle service;
– Carosello 3000.
For the kids there are ski schools or fun activities such as snow tubing, inflatable toys and kid’s club.
SNOWBOARD
Livigno has become a favorite destination for snowboarders, who can choose between 3 snowparks:
– Mottolino, served by the near “ Seggiovia Trepalle”, has a halfpipe, rails and kikers, and slopes of different difficulty levels. Considered as the best in Italy and among the top 3 in Europe, it’s famous for its adrenalin paths and every year the snowpark is the stage of international shooting.
– Carosello 3000, very large and with two boardercross, bajumps and facilities to satisfy even the most demanding snowboarders;
– American, the newest one born the last with 2 jumps and 12 rails.
FREESTYLE AND FREERIDE
Freestyle, winter sport, practiced using twin-tip skis, in which you perform jumps, choreography of various difficulties along the way. Generally practiced in the snow parks or on tracks specially equipped with jumps, obstacles etc.
In front of our hotel you can practise (with skilled Mountain Guide) another very popular sport, the Freeride: a unique experience to immerse yourself in nature sliding on the slopes to the valley floor.
TELEMARK
Another sport known internationally is Telemark: the sinuous practice of free heel. It finds the ideal theater in the wide snowy slopes of Livigno and Trepalle.
Close by our hotel you can also discover the lovely “Vallaccia” thanks to the annual event’s Free Heel Fest (International Telemark Festival, better known as the Skieda, lasting one week) in which stands the legendary Trepallina, a day with outdoor barbecue and dancing through the snow.
SNOWSHOES AND NORDIC WALKING
If you love the close contact with the snow, you can try snowshoes, the experience of walking with snowshoes to explore the enchanted forests and breathtaking landscapes; or Nordic walking, an activity midway between cross-country skiing and hiking, that offers a natural and effective way to feel better.
NORDIC SKIING
For lovers of nordic skiing, in the valley there are 30km of free (easier or more technical) slopes, which from the earliest snowfall are constantly beaten.
There is also the opportunity to practice the biathlon: a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. In December, La Sgambeda, an International cross country Marathon, opens the ski season of the prestigious Fis Marathon Cup.
SNOWMOBILE
At Eira Pass, between Trepalle and Livigno, besides to admire the beautiful view, you can try the thrill of speeding on a snowmobile on snow.
